Our History

Eastern Shore Ambulance was started in 1988 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia due to the need for non-emergency transportation of patients. At that time the volunteer fire departments were trying to provide non-emergency transportation as much as possible, but that was on a very limited case by case basis. We initially began serving the Eastern Shore of Virginia with a staff of two employees and a fleet of one ambulance. Over the years our fleet has grown to meet our expansion into new areas. In 2000 we began expansion in the tidewater region. This expansion allowed the company to triple in size in just a few years. Along the way the company used innovative ideas and technology to keep the company as streamlined and efficient as possible. We were also fortunate to be able to acquire the professional and dedicated staff that we have today. They have been and will continue to be the foundation of our success.

In March of 2006 Eastern Shore Ambulance was acquired by First Med. This acquisition will allow Eastern Shore Ambulance to not only provide the superb service that our current customers have grown accustomed to, it will also allow us to spread this same superb service regionally to new customers.
